Moose Makes the Man

A quick post and card featuring my new stamps, dies and stencils. I have been dying to play since I got home.  Being Canadian I LOVE this moose rack!  It's so cool.  I needed to make a quick birthday card so I threw this together.
I just got the new banner strip die today!  LOVE it.  I hope I folded it OK?
I love this stamp...Purveyor.  I thought the antlers were perfectly placed.
If I had more time I would have liked to crackle the picket fence and walnut stain distress paint on the Moose Antlers.
I picked up the new stencils and used the speckled and the cargo numbers!  LOVE!!!!
Now that I'm back maybe I'll get some crafty time!  Next week I head off toSIZZIX!  Holy...can you believe it...ALREADY! I need to catch up on my blogging,Pinterest and creative time!  Missed you all!

12 Tags of 2014- April...My Break Through

I had a break though!  If you are on Facebook with me you know all about my fear of the Tattered Pinecone Die!  All my hard work, burnt fingers and twisting pays off. I decided to create a little Easter Inspiration with this months tag!  I followed the tag Tim created...to a point. A lot of the elements are the same with a tweak or two here and there. This is my take on the April Tag. I had decided early on to use a #10 Tag.  I have been trying to make this for a week!
I had some mini bunny's left over from theHippity Hop Luminary's.  I traced the bunny onto some scrap grungeboard then cut it out.
I covered the bunny with glossy accents then smooshed a handful of Spanish moss.  I trimmed the moss to get the bunny's frame.  I added the smallest tied bow for the bunny bow.
I cut the ornate frame and used tumbled glass distress paint.  A perfect frame.
You can see the splattered ink for the background.  I used tattered rose and milled lavender for my distress paint.

Matchbox Easter Treats

Whenever I run a class I always make a treat for the people attending!  Usually I bake but sometimes I craft for everyone.  These Matchbox Easter Treats turned out so cute I had to share.  I stayed with pastel colours in the spirit of the season.
With the left over card stock from the matchbox I made tattered pinecone flowers to match.
I used a scallop oval punch and layered some acetate for the top. I glued down a patch of Spanish Moss and the flowers.
Each wee box is stuffed with 4 Lindor Eggs!  Oh my so yummy.
I made a few with these robins eggs too.  I thought they might be cute! Here's the class I will be teaching, Birds of a Feather.  Where the attendees will get their Matchbox Easter Treats and make some fun cards.  There's a couple spots left! It's going to be a fun class and I can't wait to hand these out.  OH... I didn't sneak one Lindor chocolate, not one!  I'm off sugar:(Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge is Easter Sweets n' Treats Thanks …

Hippity Hop Luminary

Easter is just around the corner.  I don't craft really during Easter and I don't have any "Easter" stamps or dies!  But yes, I managed to find and borrow the movers and shapers Mini Bunny from the lovely Lori over at Scrap Yard!  I had been looking for this die for a couple of weeks without any luck.  So I'm thankful Lori had it and let me do a couple cuts! I decided to make 2.  The last time I made a Luminary was for my Christmas Village featured on Simon Says Stamps Blog.  The fold is the key to this die and needless to say the bunny Luminary is a little rough. I cut up some plastic packaging I had for the windows then added some frosted film over this.
I inked the Luminary with bright Easter colours, tumbled  glass, mustard yellow, dusty concord and picked raspberry.
I grabbed a handful of tattered pinecone flowers I have in my jar and added to the top.  I cut some butterfly's from the butterfly frenzy strip die and inked.
I love my tied bow die and a f…

A New Little One

It's official, last week I became a Great Auntie!  While my niece labored away I worked on a baby card.  I had no idea if it was a girl or boy so I went with pink and green...I should have done blue and green...IT'S A BOY! Here's a quick post on the card I made. I love the stamp, my favorite from the random quotes set.
I cut a matchbox then cut an oval with my movers and shapers oval die.  It shifted so it's a little off.  Since then I used an oval punch giving me more control.  I don't redo my mistakes, I go with it.
I inked one of my flowers with peeled paint ink.  I like the contrast.
I crackled the mini glass jar then added the wee tag with twine.  I stamped from the #hashtag set without the "#".
I stamped the side of the matchbox with another #hashtag.  These stamps are a perfect fit!
I'm thrilled to be a "Great"!  I cannot wait to meet the newest addition to our family.  We leave in a week to the coast!  I look forward to newborn baby…

Frame Upgrade

I am still working on freshening up my husbands office with updated photo's of our family.  He asked me to "do that thing you do" to the frames along with his DAD project I did the other day.  So, with a few Rub Ons and some tattered pinecone flowers I gave this cheap frame a much needed upgrade.  I think this looks much better. It occurred to me when I was printing photo's of my kids that he doesn't have a photo of him and I in his office.  Using the same photo I used for the Tatttered Pinecone, A Journey photo frame I printed off this in a larger 5x7.  If you recall I made a lot of tattered pinecone flowers the other day.  It was nice to have them already made.  Here I've grouped 7 of them.  Time to make more!
Helping to anchor the flowers I added some garden greenery painted with shabby shutters distress paint.  I used my new TH Rubs here and there.
The "noteworthy" wasn't supposed to be there.  As you can see "note" attached itse…
