Specimen No. 5

Wouldn't we all like one of these sitting on the table. What a pretty specimen this would make.
Today I am sharing a tutorial for Sizzix using the Flower Garden and Mini Bouquet.  You can get the Framelits to go with the Mini Bouquet and Flower Garden Stamps.  No fussy cutting!  Well I was going through my "Library" of dies looking for the Apothecary die and I found the Bell Jar w/Pedestal first...so it wins!

The best part about these stamps... no cutting!  Stamp and line up the Framelit.  Every flower needs a butterfly and the Butterfly Duo w/Texture Fade is exceptional.

The Magrnetic Platform is essential for the Framelits and Thinlits.  It helps to use a little washi to hold the famelits in place so it won't shift.  Plastic packaging is perfect for the Bell Jar glass portion.

I used the new Mixed Media #8 Distress Tags with the Flourish Texture Fade.  Once the tag is embossed I covered the tag with gesso.  While that takes a few moments to dry I hauled out the Magenta Nuance Powders.

Blending with the powders is simple.  You can also spritz like I did here with the duo butterfly then shake the powder.  The colour is intense.  I cut 2 flower heads to layer.

When the inking is dry add some Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles for that shimmery look.  I wanted the tag to be subtle next to the brightness of the flower.

Apply distress crayon and blend.  Gently wipe off exposing the embossed flourish.  Ready the Bell Jar die cut with Scrapbook Adhesive 3D Foam Squares.

Loving the glassy look.

I would have loved the tag on it's own I think.

A little saying with Small Talk from Idea-Ology.

The duo butterfly is a big pop in colour!

Layered and fluttery.

Tied off with a bow.

Time to pull out some inks, powders, dies and stamps.  Spring is around the corner and it's time to create some bouquets.

Journaling Tuck Spots and Pockets

It is official... I am addicted to Journaling.  This is an inspiration post... why?  I may have become lost in my creativity... it happens.
Scroll through the the photos for ideas.  I have been inspired by my fellow journalers too.
I kept the cover of Eileen Hull's new Journalsimple with a flipped cabinet card and some crackle paste stenciling.

Inside there are pages of Memoranda paper and Idea-Ology from Scrap ShotzMarch Scrapbook Kit.

A mini book stuffed in a pocket too.

Nicole Wright Designs Fallen Blossomis used on the tag, stamped and watercolored with worn lipstick oxide ink.

I used pages from my 115 year old art journal to create another mini.  Stamping and watercoloring throughout each page with Garden Flower and my stamp set Fallen Blossom.

Tuck spots and pockets for stuffing notes.

The March Kit with the new Memoranda paper is perfect on it's own.  But I still cut it up and collaged with it.

I fussy cut a found relative since I am still trying to get my hands on …

Last Minute Christmas Card

We are always looking for last minute card ideas.  Here is a great quick card to whip up in no time.  A little paper, embossing powder and of course the 3" disposable sticker maker.  How time flies, can you believe this is my last post for 2017 forXyron.

With my dies I cut a bunch of paper including super stock for the ornaments.  Create a resist with clear embossing powder for inking.

Here's my favourite part... running my dies through the Xyron 3" Disposable Sticker Maker.  I just feed it like it's hungry.
Run a line of adhesive on the back of the paper for the twine to attach too and again on the chip quotes.  I stamped the sentiment from my stamp set Woodland Winter.

Check out this simple quick card.

Look how pretty my stamp looks here.

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you all a wonderful holiday.

Gifts made Easy

I love this little box that perfectly stores gift cards.  Eileen Hull does weekly Facebook Live videos and she just happened to make one of these!

EEK... just loving the simplicity of this and I was totally inspired to make one... or a few myself.

It all starts with the Scallop Flap & Flower Box die and some matboard.  I cut some pattern paper and ran it through the Creative Station to make it all easier.

I used the new Ranger Letter It stamp Cheers from the Birthday Stamp set.  Like I said I stamped a few onto a Stitched Oval cut.

I picked up some velcro strips so I could cut the pieces I needed to size.  This way the scalloped flap stays in place.

CHEERS...

You could add paper on the inside too if you wanted.
