Carnival Workshops

It's CARNIVAL TIME!  That means shopping, cropping and classes!  I will be teaching at the Calgary Event again this year.  I am so thrilled to be with everyone again this year.  Check out the details for the 2 Classes I will be teaching!

Eclectic Collage Canvas

Saturday, September 23rd – 12:00pm-2:00pm

Oh My Gosh this is going to be a fun class!  Canvas classes are always a hit and easy to create with.  Feel free to bring your own paper and finding to make it a really personal canvas.  I mean... why not!

Mixed Media Double Page Layout
Friday, September 22nd  Join me for this great double page layout!  Full of Mixed Media layers!  In this workshop there will be layering, scribbles and stamping.  Get the most of your supplies and this class.

Bring your own family photo's.  Although, my husband would be thrilled you want him on your layout ;)

Collaging with paper scraps is one of my favourite techniques!

Check out my classes and get a start on your Carnival Weekend!

All Wrapped

What's a birthday without some homemade wrapping!

I was poking through a big box of dies looking for something fun!  OK, really everything is fun when a box from Sizzix arrives.  Boxes, bags and little pouches for gift cards and cash always make gift giving prettier.

I cut all the pieces and taped the edges to connect the 2 Gable cuts.

The Create a Sticker is great for these fussy die cuts.  I love the new mini Ranger Archival inks.

Check it out...

I also made a Lip Balm Holder!  LOVE this... my daughter is alway stealing my Lip Balm.  Or as she says, Lip Chappy.

Look... it's ADORABLE!

Opened up, it's nicely tucked away.

This is a great way to wrap it up!  I'm always looking for fun ways to wrap for the older kids... whom really aren't that young anymore.  Click the images for a closer look and more details.

Market Florals

I recently received a box from Ranger with all sorts of goodies and told to have fun!  So I did!

I love the enamel embossing powders that came from Wendy Vecchi and decided the Flower Jar stamps and Thinlits would be a perfect way to show off these vibrant powders.

WOW...

I cut the Cantilever Sewing Box boxes for these little boxed vignettes.

So many flowers in this enamel bouquet.

Each floral is cut and layered with powders then stamped.

Giving that market feel with these little wooden For Sale blocks and enamel 25 cent sign.

Each jar is mounted forward with little crafty wood blocks.

Tied off with jute this makes a great summery wall accent.

Mounting these bright flowers against the brown textured vignettes really makes them pop out.  Click the photo's to take a closer look at the supplies I used.

School Fuel

School is starting soon and this week we are focused on some Back to School Inspiration! The Xyron Team will be sharing some great stuff all week so you won't want to miss anything.
I don't need to have teacher gifts anymore.  I have my "last" High Schooler in mind.  What a great Back To School card with a Tim's card to grab a morning coffee and donuts.

I used the Recipe Card die cut for the gift card to mount on.  My friend shared some of her coffee paper so I could stick with my coffee theme.

I inked the Fresh Brew coffee die with Fired Brick and stamped my new Viva Las Vegas Tim Horton's unmounted stamp.  ACK... LOVE THIS STAMP and I finally have it!

Run all the pieces through the Creative Station and Create a Sticker linked below.  I quickly attached all the alpha letters with the Create a Sticker.

Celebrating Back to School is a delicate matter with a Grade 11 student.  But, this is the perfect surprise for your tired teen!
